Build a Better Burb was a competition taken on by Dave Irwin and Eugene Lubomir. The project brief called for a proposal that
had the capacity to revitalize the downtowns of Long Island.
ELI is a blueprint to elevate the quality of life on Long Island. Utilizing the LIRR as an armature, it introduces a
new bike and pedestrian pathway that begins to physically connect towns. Functioning as a pedestrian highway and a
destination itself,ELI becomes a series of public spaces previously unknown to Long Island. New Public spaces like
the elevated pathway, open piazzas, pedestrian only streets, empower those without cars and encourage others to explore
Long Island outside their vehicles.

The project brief called for a proposal that
would be used by children in a massive 3000 sf.,
domed ex-planetarium space.
The Odyssey is place for children to engage with their built environment. A permanent scaffolding was constructed
and one's perception of materiality is heightened by the use
of everyday objects in new ways. Jason Peter's goes on to say, "Are these familiar objects just as recognizable when serving
an entirely different purpose? And just as important, does
their transformation modify their value?" Sweet Pea Projects is Andrea Claire + Jason Peters.
